Tissue Injury and Repair Conference

Conference information

Synopsis

The Tissue Injury and Repair Fusion Conference aims to bring together researchers and clinicians from different disciplines with an interest in the mechanisms underlying tissue injury and repair/regeneration and/or regenerative medicine. This meeting will provide a unique opportunity for researchers to hear about the latest developments in the field and to initiate new and in some cases highly interdisciplinary research projects and collaborations. A main focus is the promotion of young researchers in this field of tissue injury and repair.

Educational Need

Scientists working on different aspects of tissue and organ injury and regeneration and/or on regenerative medicine as well as experts in related fields (e.g. embryonic development and different diseases, including degenerative diseases and cancer), will strongly benefit from the oral presentations, posters, and virtual interactions. This will promote collaborations across disciplines that include academic and private sector research. In particular, the conference is an ideal forum for new scientists entering the field to become familiar with tissue repair and to obtain an excellent overview on the latest developments in this field. Since progress in the tissue repair/regeneration field is extremely rapid and because new therapeutics are in pre-clinical development or in clinical trials, it is important to have a specialized and unique meeting in this field.

We will strongly encourage students and postdocs and young PIs to participate in this international conference, where major leaders in the fields tissue repair, and regenerative medicine will present their recent data and ideas. This is an outstanding opportunity for young researchers to hear about this work and to initiate new collaborations with colleagues from different disciplines. This is particularly relevant, since the Gordon Conference on Tissue Repair and Regeneration in 2021 had to be cancelled and the next meeting will only take place in 2023.

Target Audience

The target audience are basic and clinical researchers working on different aspects of tissue and organ injury and regeneration and/or on regenerative medicine as well as experts in related fields (e.g. development and different diseases, including degenerative diseases and cancer). The conference will be attractive for scientists from academia and industry. It will be particularly attractive for young investigators, since most presentations will be given by young PIs, students and postdocs. In addition, there will be a poster session.
